Elisabeth Crady

Player Profile
Position:
Academic Coordinator

Elisabeth Crady is a study skills specialist and academic coordinator for football in Virginia's Academic Affairs department. She started at Virginia in the fall of 2004 as an instructional assistant and tutor for football before taking on her current role in April of 2005.

Crady works with special needs students individually and in small groups and provides training for students and tutors in dealing with learning problems associated with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders. She works closely with the department's learning needs coordinator to provide appropriate services from screening through implementation of academic accommodations.

While new to athletics, her teaching and advising, her career spans three decades. She has worked as a special education teacher at all levels of public education and has spent half of her career in higher education working as an instructor of developmental education and as a learning center director.

She earned her undergraduate degree in anthropology from Rhodes College (Tenn.) in 1974 and received her master's degree in educational psychology from Columbia University's Teachers College in 1977.
