Mac McDonald, Director of Broadcasting for Cavalier Sports Marketing, is in his seventh consecutive year as the play-by-play voice of the football and men's basketball teams. He returned to Charlottesville in 1996 after previously serving as the "Voice of the Cavaliers" from 1980 to 1985. He is a four-time Sportscaster of the Year recipient and has twice been voted "Best play-by-play man in the ACC" by the ACC Sports Journal. McDonald also received the Superior Sports Coverage Award from the Associated Press for five consecutive years, from 1997-2001.
