A very reliable sprint backstroker ... looks to continue to be a mainstay on UVa's medley relays ... also a capable sprint freestyler ... member of the 200 medley and 200 free relays that hold the school records ... also swam on UVa's second, fourth and fifth fastest 200 medley relays ... swam on the fourth-fastest 400 medley relay in school history ... is fourth in the 100 backstroke on UVa's all-time top times list ... a two-time honorable mention All-American.
2005-2006- Captured honorable mention All-America honors as a member of Virginia's 16th place 200 medley relay at NCAAs (1:29.32) ... also swam the 100 backstroke at NCAAs and finished 27th (49.92) ... swam on UVa's ACC champion 400 medley relay (3:13.15) ... an ACC finalist in the 100 and 200 backstroke ... was fourth in the 100 backstroke (49.11) and set a personal record in the prelims (48.54) ... took fifth place in the 200 backstroke (1:48.57) and had a PR in the prelims (1:48.16) ... named to the inaugural All-ACC Academic Men's Swimming and Diving team ... selected to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2004-2005- Earned honorable mention All-America honors as a member of UVa's 16th-place 200 free relay at NCAAs ... also swam on three other relays at NCAAs ... was a member of the winning 200 free relay at the ACC Championships that set a new school record (1:19.46) ... also swam on the winning 400 medley relay at ACCs ... swam in the consolation finals of the 100 backstroke at ACCs, finishing 11th ... swam on the 200 medley relay that set the school record in the event at the Last Chance Meet held at UVa (1:27.70) ... holds the school mark in the 50 back with a time of 22.94.
Prep & Personal- Earned high school All-America honors sophomore through senior year at The Woodlands ... a four-time letterwinner in swimming and water polo at The Woodlands ... the 2003 5A Texas High School state champion in the 100 backstroke ... a member of The Woodlands' 2004 5A Texas High School state champion team ... captain of both the swimming and water polo teams in 2004 ... a nine-time finalist at the 5A Texas High School state championships ... an academic All-American ... graduated magna cum laude from The Woodlands ... son of Donna and Craig Stahl ... born July 2, 1986 in Dallas, Texas ... a member of UVa's 2005-06 Student Athlete Advisory Committee and will serve in the same capacity in 2006-07 ... a pre-commerce major.
