CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va- - Virginia head baseball coach Brian O'Connor was named a College Baseball Foundation Coach of the Year and LHP/1B Sean Doolittle was named to the College Baseball Foundation's All-American team announced by the organization.

O'Connor joined three other coaches who were selected by the CBF as coaches of the year: Kentucky's John Cohen, Rice's Wayne Graham and Hawaii's Mike Trapasso. O'Connor, in his third year, led the Cavaliers to a school record 47 wins, his third straight 40-win season. The Cavs also set the school record for conference wins (21) as UVa finished third in the Atlantic Coast Conference and second in the ACC Coastal Division. The Cavaliers made its third straight appearance in a NCAA Regional under O'Connor, and Virginia hosted its second regional in the last three years. It is the second honor of the season for O'Connor. He was named ACC Coach of the Year by SEBaseball.com.

Doolittle had another great season for the Cavaliers as he went 11-2 on the mound with a 2.38 ERA. He registered 108 strikeouts in 90.2 innings while holding opponents to a .193 batting avg. He tied for the team-lead in RBI (57) and tied the single-season record for base on balls (54). Doolittle was named the 2006 ACC Player of the Year. Doolittle is also one of the semifinalists for the Brooks Wallace Award, given to the nation's top player by the College Baseball Foundation.
