WORTH NOTING: Transferred from Collin County Community College before the beginning of UVa’s 1999 fall semester … scored a career-high 15 points at Florida State (Feb. 26) ... pulled down a career-high eight rebounds in a key ACC victory over N.C. State (Feb. 12) ... turned in several strong performances during UVa’s European Tour in August of 2000 as Virginia won of five of six games ... led the team with 21 points and had nine rebounds in a 95-59 victory over TSV Breitengussbach in the second game of the tour in Nordhalben, Germany ... sprained his ankle in the fifth game of the tour against Lummen BBC in Bocholt, Belgium ... did not dress for UVa’s final game of the tour vs. Sceaux (pronounced “so”) BBC in Paris, France.

AT VIRGINIA: 1999-00—Played in all 31 games and started three . . . started the first three games of the season . . . valuable reserve up front for the Cavaliers . . . scored a career-high 15 points and grabbed five rebounds in a 71-64 loss at Florida State (Feb. 26) . . . was 3-4 from the field, including 1-3 from three-point range, and made all eight of his free throw attempts . . . also had two steals and two blocked shots in 21 minutes in that game . . . scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds in an 86-81 victory over Florida State at University Hall (Jan. 26) . . . was 5-6 from the field in that game, including 1-2 from three-point range, and was 3-4 from the free throw line . . . also had one assist and one steal in a career-high 27 minutes of action . . . had a career-high eight rebounds in an 88-82 victory over North Carolina State at University Hall (Feb. 12) . . .averaged 2.9 rebounds a game for the season, but averaged 4.0 (64) rebounds a game in the last 16 games . . . averaged 15.5 minutes a game and shot 76.7 percent (23-30) from the free throw line in 16 ACC regular-season games . . . made 21 of his last 25 free throw attempts (11 games).

AT COLLIN COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE: 1998-99— Led team to a 22-12 record … scored at a 14.2 points per game clip … led team in rebounding for the second consecutive season, grabbing 8.5 rebounds a game … finished the season as Collin County’s all-time leading rebounder with 550 career rebounds and ranked fifth on Collin County career scoring list with 859 points … earned All-North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference honors for second consecutive season … Collin County Community College’s Two-Year Student-Athlete of the Year Award recipient. 1997-98—Averaged 12.1 points and 8.5 rebounds a game while leading Collin County to 20-11 record … named All-Conference … team Most Valuable Player … three-time conference Player of the Week selection.

He’s put in countless hours improving his game, working on his strength and his offensive skills. He is one of the most popular players on the team, and we are hoping for a really good senior year for Stephane.”

What did you do during the off-season to prepare for the upcoming season?
I took a couple of classes to get ahead with my school work and graduate in May [of 2001].

Describe one of the most interesting things you did on the team’s trip to Europe.
I saw my family and friends, and I learned about the culture of Germany and Belgium.

In what ways do you hope to contribute to this year’s team?
I want to be an example for my teammates.

Describe one of your favorite childhood memories.
Playing soccer with my friends from back home. That was really intense and competitive.

What is something you like to do in your spare time to relax?
Lay down on my bed and listen to music for hours.
