Player Profile
Position:
Assistant Coach

Alma Mater:
Virginia '99

Lori Mastropietro was named the ACC Player of the Year in 1998, the first Cavalier in school history to be so honored. She joins the coaching staff in 1999 after a highly successful playing career at Virginia, which included a stint with the National team at the World Cup in 1998.

A two-time All-American, Mastropietro was named to the US National Team in December of 1997, and was one of only two collegiate players to participate in the 1998 FIH World Cup in Amsterdam. In her senior season, Mastropietro was named the ACC Player of the Year and a first-team All-American. She also played in games for the United States in a tour of England in the summer of 1997.

Mastropietro, the Cavaliers' starting sweeper in each of her four seasons, anchored the nation's top defense in 1997, allowing less than a goal per game. A scoring threat as well, Mastropietro consistently ranked among Virginia's top scorers, including a career-high 12-goal season in 1997. She was a two-time member of the NFHCA Academic All-American team.
