Carolyn McMillan is in her first season as the novice coach with her alma mater.
A 2005 UVa graduate with a degree in environmental science, McMillan earned first-team All-America honors as a senior. Also an All-ACC and Academic Honor Roll honoree, the former team captain was a member of the varsity 8+ boat that won the 2005 ACC Championship and finished third at the 2005 South/Central Regionals. McMillan was a gold medalist with the second varsity 8+ at the 2004 ACC Championship and the 2004 Central/South Region Sprints. As a sophomore and freshman, McMillan was a gold medalist with the first varsity 8+ which was named the ACC Crew of the Year in 2003 and 2002 after winning the ACC Championship and Central/South Region Sprints.
Following graduation, McMillan spent the fall of 2005 training with the Canadian National team while earning her teaching certificate at the University of Western Ontario.
