"It's hard to be pleased when the varsity eight loses the final race. We're overcoming a lot of adversity with injuries. We had to switch line-ups between the morning and afternoon sessions. Virginia's second varsity eight, including Caitlin Mixter (coxswain), Renee Albers, Anna Samaha, Bridget Fowler, Kelsie Chaudoin, Emelia Colman-Shepherd, Augusta Stratos, Andria Haneman, and Rebecaa Ryall, finished ahead of Ohio State with a time of 6:52.9. The Buckeyes came in at 6:58.5. Michigan (7:08.8) outlasted Duke (7:15.6). Manned by Mary Eddy (coxswain), Mindy Fiesler, Mieke Pitts, Alexandra Clair, and Amanda Chase, Virginia "A" captured its second race on the day in the varsity four race, finishing in 7:50.7, followed by Virginia "B" (8:03.1) and Ohio State (8:07.3).
