Virginia '02

Lori Lindsey, who closed her Cavalier career just last season, returns as a graduate assistant in 2002. Lindsey is fresh off her first season with the San Diego Spirit of the WUSA. She was the fourth player taken overall in the 2002 WUSA Draft.

Lindsey was named the Female Athlete of the Year at the University of Virginia for the 2001-02 academic year. She helped lead the Cavaliers to a 17-4-2 mark in 2001, their second-highest win total in school history. She finished her career ranked sixth at Virginia in both goals scored (33) and total points (76).

Lindsey is the only Virginia player honored as the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year. She received the award in 2000 and in 2001, joining Mia Hamm as the only players to receive the honor twice. She was also a second-team NSCAA All-American and first-team All-ACC selection as a senior. Lindsey earned All-ACC honors in three of her seasons with the Cavaliers.
