Jason Kozak is entering his fourth season at Virginia as an assistant coach. He was elevated to full-time status prior to the 2004 season. Kozak has seven years of collegiate coaching experience as well as four years as a collegiate club player.

At Virginia, Kozak is responsible for coaching the liberos and the middles. He has coached UVa's outside hitters in past seasons. Kozak also has responsibilities in home volleyball match management.

Kozak assumed duties as camp director for UVa's volleyball camps in the summer of 2005. He is in charge of all logistical operations, staff, and session planning for each camp.

The Rochester, N.Y., native came to Virginia after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Pennsylvania in 2001. He helped the Quakers to the Ivy League Co-Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance. Prior to coaching at UPenn, Kozak was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Appalachian State from 1999 to 2001. During his tenure, Appalachian State advanced to the Southern Conference tournament in 1999 and 2000. Kozak began his collegiate career 1n 1998 as an assistant coach at his alma mater, SUNY-Brockport, and helped the Golden Eagles to the 1998 SUNY Athletic Conference West Co-Championship.

Kozak graduated from SUNY-Brockport in 1997 with a degree in Physical Education/Teacher Certification. He also received an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Physical Studies from Monroe Community College in 1994. While at SUNY-Brockport, Kozak was a member of the school's club volleyball team from 1994 to 1997. He also played club volleyball and varsity soccer at Monroe Community College.

Kozak remains active in the Charlottesville volleyball scene both as a player and referee.
