CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Virginia volleyball team (4-2, 0-0 ACC) came back to beat Temple after dropping the first game Saturday, a 3-1 win in the final match of the 2007 Marriott Jefferson Cup. Fourth years Melissa Caldwell and Sarah Kirkwood were named to the All-Tournament team.

Kirkwood dominated the attacking game. Her first eight attacking attempts were kills as the Tampa, Fla., native finished with a game-high 24, leaving her seven short of the program's all-time mark for career kills. Kirkwood had just four attacking errors for a .465 hitting percentage.

Caldwell led all players with 13 digs against the Owls. Rookie Kelly Irvin tallied nine digs while Beth Shelton and A.J. Cushman finished with eight digs apiece.

Fourth year Katie Oakes paced the Cavaliers with 10 blocks, another game-high. Oakes also posted 11 kills.

Virginia hit .248 for the match, compared to a .175 percentage for Temple, who dropped to 3-5 on the year.

The win over the Owls gave UVa a second-place finish in the annual Jefferson Cup. Arkansas captured the tournament crown finishing with a 3-0 record on the weekend. The Cavaliers went 2-1; Temple 1-2 and Norfolk State 0-4.

Virginia will travel to San Diego next weekend to wrap up non-conference play. The Cavaliers will face Oklahoma at 5 p.m. PT (8 p.m. ET) Friday in their first match of the event.
